Crime Prevention advice |

Tool theft can be devastating for business owners. We see this type of offence committed in hotel, gym and other public car parks. Vehicles can also be targeted on driveways, outside residential properties and near building sites. We appreciate it’s hard to keep tools safe in a van when a determined thief will find a way to break in. To give yourself the best chance of protecting your tools, please consider: - Parking in a secure carpark or garage overnight - Don't leave any valuables on show - Removing tools from vans where possible - Install a lockable cabinet or safe to store tools that can't be removed We also ask that you: - Record serial numbers and keep proof of purchase where possible - Give your tools a unique mark that could identify the items as yours if stolen and later recovered - Register the tools accurately with your insurance company so you can claim in the event of a theft
